Golobart and His Scottish Move

Spanish defender Roman Golobart has moved on a six month loan deal to SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 19 year old, centre half who is a promising talent at Latics, has made the move up north to gain some first team experience. The player, who is in his second year with Latics, joined from UD Las Palmas, having been at Espanyol as a trainee.

Golobart joined the club shortly after Martinez took over as manager, but was unlucky with injuries during his first year. After regaining fitness last year and playing well as part of the clubs reserve side, it looked like he may feature more in the first team this year.

Martinez said:

"He goes with all our good wishes, hopefully Roman will be able to gain some invaluable experience of playing first team football and in Terry Butcher he will have a hugely experienced coach who has played and managed at the highest level.

I know he will be a great ambassador for the club and for himself."

Golobart will return to the club in early January.
