Chris Kirkland has more or less officially moved to Doncaster Rovers. The move has looked like it would come to a halt after Martinez said Kirkland was wanted at Latics. However that hasn't stopped Donny getting their man, who will remain on loan till January.
Kirkland told Doncaster Rover's official site:
"As soon as I heard about the interest, I wanted to come. I need to get back playing and hopefully if I do well I can do that here."
"It's a tough league, it's the same as the Premier League, nobody has got the given right to beat anybody. There are a lot of tough teams, so we're going to have to work hard as individuals and as a squad."
"I've not played a lot over the last 12-18 months, so, hopefully I can get a few games and help the team and the team can help me."
However Roberto Martinez still wants to retain the player permanently at Wigan Athletic. Yesterday he said although Chris maybe off on loan, it wasn't the end of the player Latics career.
