20 years old Callum McManaman, who starred for England under 20s in the summer, has joined Blackpool on loan till January. The player is highly rated by the club, and the loan move could be what the player is looking for to gain some crucial first team appearance.
Callum (who is the nephew of Steve Mcmanaman) joined Latics from Evertons youth system, and has gone onto work is way up through the Wigan ranks. Last season he was potent for the clubs newly named 'Development Squad'. He looked likely to get a place in the team, however that never really came to fruition.
After a good season, he was reward with a place in England's Under 20s squad for the World Cup. Unfortunately for England we failed to get past the group stages, having drawn every game, but it was a big personal plus for Mcmanaman who played every game of the group stages.
Since recovering from fatigue issues, I and many alike thought he would push for a first team spot. However the move away from the club, could prove more beneficial to the player. Lets hope he plays and that he gets on the score sheet.
