The rumours about Hugo Rodallega leaving the club, won't go away. The 26 year-old Colombian is in the last year of his contract at the club, and it is likely that he will move on in January if a deal is not forth coming.
It is currently believed that Liverpool and Arsenal are looking to buy Rodallega. While it has also been known for the past two seasons that Spanish side Villarreal have wanted the Wigan Athletic hit man. With a deal in the region of £6-8 million said to be agreeable.
It will be for the most part a sad day, when Rodallega leaves the club. He has become our lead man over the past few years since he signed for the club, and last season became our all time leading Premier League goalscorer.
Whether or not a news deal can be arranged I do not know. However Robertoo Martinez has said that talks will be continuously ongoing with the player, as they want him to stay at the club. Yet they are not at the fore front of either his or Rodallega's minds as they want to get the Latics out of the dire run of results the club is in.
If Rodallega does leave the club, then more than likely it will be in January, instead of on a free in the summer. Hopefully though he will sign a new long term deal and remain with the club, Hugo is a player we need to look to keep hold of, instead of sell.
