Club Apologise over Antolin Alcaraz Spitting

Wolverhampton boss Mike McCarthy today told his club's offical website, that Roberto Martinez has apologised for what Antolin's behaviour towards Wolves player Richard Stearman during the weekends game. McCarthy also went on to add that he wishes it would not impact on Wigan's image has he respects the staff and the club.

Who said there were no more nice guys in football? They are a dying breed but a few, top notch mangers and players are still around in the footballing world.

Dave Whelan today has also told the press he does not condone the action taken by Alcaraz and accepts any punishment the player gets of the FA and by the management staff.

 

"That sort of behaviour has no place in football. It has no place in society,"

"It is disgusting, a horrible thing to do and I was shocked."

"I will back whatever punishment the manager decides to impose. I cannot tolerate this sort of thing and it saddens me that a Wigan player is alleged to have done it. It is totally unacceptable."
