Antolin Alcaraz Out Agian?

Our Paraguayan defender is yet again looking to miss more game time this season. It hasn’t been the best of starts, after his return from a very successful Copa America. So far this season he has only played six games.

Missing the first game of the season, upon his return against Swansea, he managed just over 20 minutes before having to be taken off for a ruptured calf.

Back in the squad and four games later against Wolves, spitting out a Richard Spearman. The FA handing him out a three games suspension.

Could it get worse? It just has. It appears that in the first half of last weekend’s clash he has broken a rib and could be out for the next 3 weeks.

Hopefully it won’t be as bad as first feared and he can make it back to fitness for this weekend’s encounter against Chelsea.

Roberto Martinez said:

'Unfortunately Antolin has gone for an x-ray and the fear is that he has got a fractured rib. 'He couldn't breathe when he had to come off, I thought he was colossal alongside the rest of the backline.'
