Our all time leading Premier League goalscorer has confirmed that these look likely to be the last three months of his time at Wigan Athletic. The Colombian striker has been a fan favorite since arriving at the club, and his exit would be one of mixed emotions for most Wigan fans.
He has been a work horse for most of the times, and at others has come up with some fantastic goals that have kept the club in the position we are today. Yet at times he has failed to score the easiest of tap ins, and so far this season he has been way below par for the club.
So where too now for the striker?
Well he has yet to confirm where he is going, but has said he is in talks with other clubs, yet will not disclose them due to respect for Wigan. Which for me is how loyal a player he is, to say I will be on my way out, but I am still focused on Wigan and helping them survived.
Hugo has said:
"My contract at Wigan runs out at the end of May and I hope this situation gets resolved - but I can already say these are my last three months with Wigan,"
The frontman says he is in talks with a number of sides but has refused to name them "out of respect for Wigan"
