Preview: Swindon Town vs Wigan Athletic

Could he start for Latics?
Could he start for Latics?

I will start off with a confession. And that is, I have no clue about Swindon at all. I wouldn't even know where to begin (no offence to any Swindon Fans). Yet I am going to try my best, I do remember they very nearly broke into the Championship, with a side which was going so well. Then fell at those nastiest of play-off hurdles.

The other very big chance, is that the line up that play against Swindon Town could well be, our reserves. Yet I have a feeling I can guess at least the starting eleven.

So first too Wigan. Martinez is most likely to rest most of, if not all of our fourteen players that played against Sunderland.

Goalkeeper could be any of the three we have at the club. Kirkland would be my main shout, yet who knows how his temperamental back is doing. Mike Pollitt is an assured choice the now 39 year old, has never really failed in between the stick for Wigan. The last choice is England youth goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, a lot is expected of this player, so surely it is about time that he was given game time.

In defence, Emmerson Boyce will be a definite return, while Adrain Lopez who featured early on in the season will join in along side him. Now depending how we will play with three center back, or a flat pack four. There could be room for youngster Jordan Mustoe and Robinson if we play the back four. Yet only one to play in the back three.

You still with me?Here is where it gets really complicated.

Midfield if we have a four man midfield. Then it is likely that Shaun Maloney and James McArthur will play center midfield, with Callum Mcmanaman and Nouha Dicko play in the either side on the wings. If we play a three man center then Hendry Thomas may return in the midfield.

Now up front. If we play with two, the Di Santo and Connor Sammon will the obvious front two. If we play with three up front, then it has to go down to being Sammon, with Mcmanaman and Dicko either side of him.

That is only my prediction. It could turn out so different in Martinez's head.

Now as for Swindon. Last season they suffered the unthinkable relegation from League One, and now reside 4th in League Two. Only seven points behind top of the league Crawley Town. So promotion back to League one, looks on the cards for the Wiltshire side.

Adam Connell could prove the threat for the Latics defence. The inform striker has notched up seven this season, and I am sure he ill be looking to score and add to his tally against a Premier League side.

All things points to a classic encounter at the County Ground come Saturday.
