Oh Liverpool, we do love you, never dull and truly fantastic people. And one such great Liverpudlian is the comedian John Bishop who I and many of the British public have enjoyed watching on his rise to fame over the past few years, and many people would say he is probably the biggest comedy talent from the north west of England currently.
Well according to Ian Ayre the tides of the comedy cycle in England is changing and the new comedian in the North of England is the current Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan. Well have to say I am very much looking forward to the tour by Big Dave.
Rumours are already circulating that the name is to be Dave and my world Domination, tickets are to go on sale at £25. Anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to enter due to the material that will be on show.
Okay so that would be a bit of a farce and so really is what Mr Ayre is saying. Mr Whelan was continually talking to the media and telling them what was happening behind the closed doors of Liverpool and their managerial search. It was Dave's right to do so, and in away it was to upset Liverpool and Martinez from moving.
Many of the big clubs use the media as away to unnerve and unsettle players from smaller clubs and try and get them to sign or under perform when they play them. It is a tactic that everyone these days uses in one way or another, but when someone like Wigan starts to punch above their weight it becomes incorrect behaviour.
But be that as it may, none cares and it will all be forgotten in a couple of weeks time.
