Wigan's First Official Signing (Well Almost)

After week, and weeks and even a week longer. Wigan Athletic fans can finally start to celebrate their first summer signing with a 19 year old Scottish midfielder in the Wigan area having a medical and holding contract talks. A few days ago when Sky Sports News broke the story that we were one of the clubs casing the young man I have to say I was sceptical to say the least. Especially with Fulham also looking at him, they seem to be able to out bid and out pay us when it comes to a straight fight for players.

Now though it looks like we have beaten them to this man. With the news coming out of Wigan that Frazer Fyvie will sign a contract with the club, after Aberdeen and Wigan agreed a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £500,000. For a 19 year old player with potential, I think you will agree that is brilliant work by our team.

The news has been officially confirmed by Aberdeen that the player is in talks with Wigan after a short statement released by them.

Aberdeen FC can this morning confirm Fraser Fyvie is currently south of the border holding discussions with Wigan Athletic.

The 19 year old midfielder became the youngest ever player to start for the Dons when he made his debut against Hamilton Accies in 2008.
