Well the transfer of Victor Moses away from Wigan Athletic, could finally be done by this week. It was believed that Chelsea's last bid wasn't too far of the asking price (which is now believed to be about £9 million). Now it looks like Whelan is close to finally relenting on the deal, and will accpet the £8 million that Chelsea are offering us.
It would be a big blow to the club, that we lose Moses, and we would need to bring in someone who is a subtiable replacement quickly, to be ready to play Chelsea in the first game of the season.
Current reports are suggesting that Wigan are looking to sign Jermaine Pennant from Stoke City. However the winger himself posted today on Twitter that all such reports are ficticous and are nothing to do with him. The other player Wigan have kept an eye on his Blackpool winger Matt Phillips, who could be another possible replacement for Moses.
