Completed Transfer: Angelo Henriquez

This one hasn't been much of a secret yet it is now finally done. The striker joins us on loan till the end of the season, and will come in as cover for Arouna Kone while he is off playing in the African Cup of Nations.

Angelo Henriquez the 18 year old striker is something of an unknown. Since joining United in the summer for a fee of about £6 million, he has yet to feature in the English game (in senior terms). That is no surprise with the talent which lays before him, yet he himself is a talent.

Something of the next big thing at home, he scored 11 goals in 17 appearances for Club Universidad de Chile. By anyone standards that is good going. He then followed this up by scoring on his full international debut for Chile. This lad is and is going to be something very very special.

Can he make an impact for us? Young, unknown and wanting to work hard. Then yes I don't see why he couldn't be a big part in helping us stay in the league this season. He could be the man we have been looking for to step into Victor Moses shoes from last season, except this time the player can score.

Martinez is of course happy with the signing, speaking to the clubs official website he said:

"We’re really excited about Angelo because he is a very young man with a huge potential; he’s a goal-scorer with clever movement inside the box and has had a very successful time with his former club Universidad.

"We hope to have a good partnership in terms of allowing Angelo to develop as a footballer and learn of the demands of the English game, because I feel he can bring us something different in the forward line.

"I’m sure the fans will give him a great welcome on Saturday and it will provide him with the perfect opportunity to begin his experiences on the pitch in English football which is very exciting."

The player himself said he is also looking forward to getting stuck in at the club. He will be available to play against Bournemouth at the weekend, and will wear the number 11 shirt. It will be interesting to see how he fits into the side come the weekend.
