Been a hard month December for Latics six games and we managed to pick up four points from them. A draw against QPR and then a win against Aston Villa. Then a mixture of other good performances thrown in for good measure. Some players have had a great month, while some have now started to have a big dip in form.
Who was the man who finished the year then best? Keeping off the mince pies and instead concentrating on playing his football.
James McCarthy- I don't know how long we can keep hold of this young man, he is putting in such fantastic performances that it won't be long before someone come in for him and makes us an offer that we can't refuse. Every game this month he was on form, winning the ball and getting it off to someone else to start and attack and he finally managed to get on the score sheet. Two great goals against QPR which showed the full extent of his talent.
Adrain Lopez- We always felt this man was a liability. Yet we were down hearten when we lost him due to injury against Norwich. He had been fantastic for the rest of the month, a strong confident center back who has cut out those mistakes and instead now looks confident on the ball and strong in the air and in the tackle.
Shaun Maloney- He has started to come back into it and this man is a talent. Shaun didn't start against Norwich came on at half time and then changed our attacking credentials. Scoring and at the forefront of every attack we made. He then did the same against Aston Villa this time from the start he orchestrated our victory.
James McArthur- McArthur doesn't get enough credit. James just goes about his business winning tackles each and every time he is needed. Very much a lynch pin midfielder who could play defensively and mope up all on coming attacks, yet he is also brilliant at getting forward himself and causing the opposition some trouble.
