The FA's independent disciplinary board has ruled in the favor of Wigan Athletic's appeal. The red card acquired by James McClean in the weekend's game against Blackpool, on the grounds of violent conduct, has been rescinded.
News coming out of the club and the FA in the last hour or so means that James will be free to play at the weekend against Charlton if selected by the manager. The Republic of Ireland international has in recent games become a big part of Owen Coyle's plans and it would have been a shame to lose him for three league games.
Although his end product wasn't up to scratch, he was our biggest threat against Blackpool at the weekend's fixture.
