Nouha Dicko has been floating round at the club for a few years, with a couple of spells away at Blackpool getting relegated this summer looked like the chance for the pacey winger to break into the first team. How wrong could you be? And impressive pre-season has turned into a big flat flop and Owen Coyle looked to Marc Albrighton to add competition on the right wing.
All is not lost for the winger. The chance of a months loan spell with the Millers could be the key to unlocking the ability that is inside the player. Roberto Martinez wasted no time in making a move for the player when he was released by Strasbourg in 2011.
A couple of seasons for the player to get use to the English climate as well as the football was to be expected. Now when you felt he could be ready to take up the mantle at the club (especially with Callum McManaman still fighting back from an ankle injury), the winger has yet to grasp that chance under Owen Coyle.
He was a common place on our pre-season tour and the signs looked good. Included in the early season squads for some away games and even making an appearance off the bench in the Community Shield.
Yet for one reason or another Dicko has yet to rise the level we all thought he would do. He now has a chance to change that with a month away in, across the border Yorkshire.
