It wasn't a bad game but frustrating is a very apt word to describe the outing. Chances were in abundance but finishing was poor and thus 0-0. I do think we should have had a penalty and I also think we should have punished Birmingham more for going down to 10 men. On a positive note, our defence is starting to look stronger already. I'm very impressed Uwe Rosler so far and I'm looking forward to see the team settle under his style.
As for the match. To me the stand out performer was Jordi Gomez, even considering he only came on at half time. His passing was terrific, he made good use of Beausajour's runs and allowed him to slip through the defence on a number of occasions. If we can tighten up these plays then we will have a dangerous weapon at our disposal.
Callum McManaman also had a good showing but I feel the lad needs to finish more of his attempts. When the lad's on form he'll be putting them away left, right and centre and I want that to happen as soon as possible! McArthur had an interesting game, as did Ramis and Holt who also desperately needs to start putting away these goals. I feel bad for constantly attack Holt like this but it is the forwards job to get these vital goals and he is a very experienced player.
It was good to see Ali Al-Habsi back in the game although he did look a little clunky at times, but he didn't exactly play badly! I'm sure he'll soon get back into his terrific ways. It's good to know we have some very reliable goalkeepers!
So this weeks Man of the Match was Jordi Gomez, but who was yours? Vote below!
