Gary Caldwell our captain and Scottish international defender has returned from international duty to the Wigan training ground Christopher park, after picking up an injury. The defender who has had a groin problem earlier in the season could now be in a race to be fit for this weekends trip to Stamford Bridge.
Captain Caldwell now joins a list of injured defenders that included Emmerson Boyce, Ivan Ramis, Adrian Lopez and Antolin Alcaraz. Lopez and Alcaraz are both close to returns for the first team, with both now in full training, Boyce on the other hand is a couple more weeks away from full fitness.
Our already thinned defence is now getting even thinner. We could be down to the bare minimum for this weekend.
