So that is it no way to get around it Owen Coyle is Wigan Athletic manager for the next 12 months as it stands. He signs a rolling contract with incentives and extensions available depending on how well he does at the club and depending on performance levels over the course of the season.

It was the shock appointment as last night Steve McClaren was expected to be the man unveiled by the club. However news broke early on Friday morning that it was in fact Owen Coyle who was to become our new manager. Dave Whelan taking to the cameras to say a deal was all but signed.

That deal has now been signed, and here is how the clubs official twitter account released the news.

Woah how ecstatic the media team are at Wigan. What a lovely way to welcome our new manager.

Coyle may not be everyone's choice and he may be an ex-Bolton player and manager. That all now has to be put behind us all and we have to group together and support a man who our chairman believes in.

So come on Wigan fans its a done deal, lets keep the faith and believe in the new Wiganer manager. Just look at what has happened over the past four years, it has shown us that anything us possible. So could be success under Owen Coyle!
