When Thomas Rogne was mentioned as a possible income to the club, you look on paper and think is it really a good option. The young 23-year old defender is talented there is no question about that, but his long list of injury problems is a worry.
The defender was part of the Norway under-21 team which this summer surprised everyone with their performances. Thomas playing in the right back position was solid and in control until he picked up an injury when playing against England.
The signs are good about Thomas though, an impressive performance against Dundee United on Saturday showed why Coyle went after the player. The good though was followed by the bad as Rogne was removed from the pitch with a possible back injury; fit for weekend? Only time will tell.
A player who, kept fit, will go on to have a good career at Wigan both in the long term and short term. That doubt still remains though, can a player who last season was in and out the Celtic side regularly (due to injury) be able to keep himself fit enough to hold a place at Wigan.
