New Signing Review: Juan Carlos Garcia

With one Honduran going out (Maynor Figueroa), the club had to of course bring in another one. Well we had lost a left/centre back so the logical thing would be bring in another such player. Welcome to Juan Carlos Garcia.

As Maynor Figueroa decided that Hull was a more attractive proposition than Wigan in the Europa League; the club was originally left with no out and out left back. Steven Crainey was signed on a free to bolster the team.

Yet Owen Coyle isn’t likely to play the same wing backs that we did under Roberto Martinez, instead a more traditional flat back four is likely to occur, with that in mind we needed another left back. Rumours were about of the club signing a left back come centre back and that it was only a matter of time before it went through.

In came Juan Carlos Garcia on a free transfer from Honduran club Olimpia. The former club of other successful Wigan Honduran stars Maynor Figueroa and Wilson Palacios.

Will Mr Garcia follow in the footsteps of his international teammates? Initial signs are that the 25-year old player is very much like Maynor Figueroa was upon his initial arrival, fast and with a left foot of pure power, it seems as it is a like for like swap.
