The world of football is back this weekend and Wigan are travelling away to Leicester City, a game which will be massively tricky to get anything from. Getting something from the game though will be a massive must for the team as they want to keep pushing up the table and challenge for one of the top six spaces in the Championship.
Leicester City are a team full of players who are of a high quality verging on Premier League, backed by a chairman and board with money to splash a team once managed by Sven Goran Eriksson has still yet to achieve that ultimate goal of promotion to the Premier League.
Under Nigel Pearson Leicester have started the season well this year. Sitting fifth with ten points this season, as they feel this season could be the year that they final make that charge into the Premier League; where the fans and players must fell they have a right to deserve.
A side filled with talented players who will try and force the issue early on. David Nugent is a player who can really cause a team problems. He hasn't scored much for them in the past few seasons, yet his work rate off the ball and his willingness to create space and assist for other players around him.
The former England international is a man who Wigan will have to keep an eye on.
The Wigan team going into this game is only short of Grant Holt, Gary Caldwell and Ivan Ramis for today's game. The team is now looking much stronger with the return of Callum McManaman from suspension and Ryan Shotton and Nick Powell will both be ready to make their debuts in the game after signing loan deals.
Going to be interesting game and hopefully the Latics lads can achieve a win this weekend and start to put yet more points on the board. Yet with a few players having been away on international duty will some fo them be sturggling with jet lag? Hopefully not so much.
