What could happen before 11:00?

As the minutes countdown before the window slams shut at 11:00, there could be a few last minute deals that could happen in the next few hours.

So far the only new arrival at the DW Stadium today has been Leicester City forward Martyn Waghorn on loan until the rest of the season. He becomes Uwe Rosler's 4th signing following Nicky Maynard, Tyias Browning and Josh McEachran, but there has been a few names thrown about at Wigan so far in January with the likes of John Guidetti, Serge Gnabry and Jordan Rhodes all looking to fall short of expectations but there could be a few ins and/or outs at Wigan before the Transfer Window expires.

Jack Hobbs has been the most likely to come in at Wigan after rumours were then certified by Hull City boss Steve Bruce as the former Latics Man told BBC Humberside the Tigers had accepted bids from Reading and the Latics:

"He has permission to speak to them so it's up to him to sort out now,"

"The ball is in his court and we'll see where he goes before Friday."

The defender was at Nottingham Forest on loan this season until recalled by Hull last week, he had all but signed for Forest but it seems he will sign for either Reading or Wigan but nothing has been released since bids were accepted earlier this week. If Wigan do win the race for Hobbs' signature, it will definitely add cover at the back and could sure our holes up at the back.

Craig Dawson is the other defensive name we have been linked with but this seems pure paper talk. It seemed that we were set to battle with rivals Bolton Wanderers for his signature until the end of the season but it looks as if it'll amount to nothing. The England u21 went on loan to the Trotters at the back end of last season massively improving Bolton's form but only to see them miss out on a play-off spot on the last day to much delight. There could be some surprise names still to come in and we are sure to find out come 11:00.

So far only Fraser Fyvie and Adam Buxton have departed to Shrewsbury Town and Burton Albion on loan respectively but Ivan Ramis is the name on everybody's lips after Wigan accepted bids from Crystal Palace and Cardiff respectively but it has revealed that he failed a medical at both clubs and it seems that the Spaniard will stay at Wigan at least until Summer. I for one am still not convinced as it looked as James McCarthy was staying at Wigan but it looks as if there will be no disappointing departures at Wigan, not at least until the New Season but we could be in a better position to keep the likes of Callum McManaman and Shaun Maloney.
