Paper Talk: Nicky Maynard Loan Move to Wigan Athletic?

Very strong rumor going around that we have agreed a loan deal for Nicky Maynard. The striker was a player that Roberto Martinez tried to sign during his time here before the player opted for West Ham United. Now at Cardiff it looks like we are going to make another move for him.

Nicky Maynard is a player Wigan Athletic as a club have courted for a long long time. Under Roberto Martinez a fee was agreed and the player looked to be on his way, that was until West Ham offered him a bigger wage. The player has since joined Cardiff and was out for most of last season, since then he has dropped down the pecking order at Cardiff.

A few clubs have been chasing the players signature, Nottingham Forrest included. It now appears that Wigan have won the race to the players signature and that we could have the deal wrapped up by tomorrow. That is if the player will agree to the move himself.

He has turned us down once, could he turn us down again? I would like to think that Uwe Rosler could persuade the player to sign has he would be the exact type of signing that we need at this club.

Speaking of strikers at the club though. The other rumors that has down the rounds today is of Grant Holt's exit, as of yet there has been nothing concrete around any sort of deal for the player. Yet if we managed to make any of the £2 million that we bought Holt for, then the club has done really well for itself.
