Club News: Fraser Fyvie Yet Again Struggles With Injury

Poor Mr Fyvie yet again another injury sees him return to the club and cut a loan spell short. The player must be wondering what he has to do to string a few games together for a team and if he can break into the Latics at some point in the near future.

When we bought Fraser Fyvie, the hype was rather high. The teenage wonder kid from Aberdeen was following in the footsteps of James McCarthy and McArthur and moving from a club north of the border to Wigan Athletic. It meant expectations where high of the player, as we all expected to him be another hit at the club.

Unfortunately for him a mixture of injury and players solidifying their place in our midfield kept him out of the team last season. The few times he did feature in the cup competition the player left little for us to really get excited. Yet being a tender age and make his first steps in English football you could let the lad off.

With Roberto Martinez leaving the club over the summer, you wondered if he would feature in the plans of the next Wigan manger. Under Owen Coyle the signs were good, the player had a good pre-season and looked to be on the edges of the team; likely hood was he would go out on loan.

That eventually occurred when he joined Yoevil Town, the player managed just two appearances before having to return to Latics due to injury.

This time round the player managed a total of four appearances before causing himself an injury. The player has a knee injury, details haven't been released, yet it has been enough for the player to not have the chance of going back on loan at Shrewsbury.
