Oh Nick Powell, what an interesting signing you have been for us. Very much a coupe when we landed you under Owen Coyle we all felt that you would add that extra pzazz to the team. Well you did, for the first half of the season. When we struggled to get through teams or needed a goal you generally managed to come up with the goods.
Yet since the turn of the year and under Uwe Rosler, Nick Powell, hasn't looked his best. Often selfish and greedy on the ball and not willing to run and make up the ground off it. You wonder if something had been going on behind the scenes, or whether or not Nick didn't like being top dog anymore as other strikers had over taken him in the pecking order. In the end he managed to bag himself 12 goals in his 42 games at the club, just over 1 in 3.
Of course there was all the speculation about a return to Manchester United, which again could have massively unsettled the player.
There are other clubs in the vying, with it reported that newly promoted Leicester City are willing to take him on loan. However Manchester United want to keep a closer eye on the player so a team close to the Crewe/Manchester area seems to be the preference here for any future Nick loan moves.
If we manage to get hold of him, then would be a good piece of business to start the summer. Of course it is all speculation so far.
