Confirmed Transfers: Daniel Redmond Joins Hamilton

Well Latics have lost another and it is in the shape and form of young Daniel Redmond, a player who just couldn't make the jump into the first team here at Wigan.

Joining the club as a young lad from Everton in 2009 Daniel Redmond became yet another face who many people at the club hoped to see one day grace the pitch at the DW Stadium. Under the Roberto Martinez era there was always hints that Martinez fancied the young midfielder and that one day he would break into the first team, last season though when given the chance Redmond didn't really impress.

He played in the Carling Cup tie against Bradford and although he was stuck out on the left wing back postion, naturally left footed but not a defender, the player just looked completely out of his depth.  That though will be now just one of the handful of appearances the player made at the club has he heads for pastures new.

The player shone in the second half of last season at Carlisle, but it have been Hamilton who have wasted no time to snap up the midfielder on a free transfer. The Scottish club returning to the SPL next season have looked to add to their squad and Redmond will now join them. The player has already been on loan with them back in 2012 where he had a very successful spell.

Well would like to wish Daniel all the best at his new home.
