Paper Talk: Callum set for Medical, Wigan Chase Leeds Captain

It has been a very depressing day in terms of transfer news for Wigan Athletic. Firstly we see that Maloney leaves whilst Callum McManaman appears to be edging close to an exit.

I had hoped more than anything that we would hold our resolve over Callum McManaman. With Malky Mackay seemingly determined to sell every attacker we have, although Marc-Antoine Fortune seems to be sticking around, I would hope that Callum McManaman with two years on his contract would stay.

The reports this evening are that our resolve has failed and that he will have a medical with West Bromwich Albion tomorrow ahead of a proposed move to the midlands club. Tony Pulis is a big admirer of McManaman having tired to sign him in the summer as Crystal Palace manager. It now appears he has is man with an offer in the region of £5 million having sealed the deal.

Well we must have someone lined up to replace him.

Yeah we have Leeds United captain, central defender Jason Pearce. You heard me right as another attacker goes we continue to close in on defenders. The reports over the weekend have continued today with us after the player on a permanent basis. Leeds are happy for a deal to be done.

The other weekend rumour was about a striker we missed out on over the summer Lukas Jutkiewicz. The former Everton striker who we lost out on signing to Burnley has apparently become available on loan and we have enquired about him coming to us. Further noise has yet to transpire. It would be close to the kind of player we want and need, hopefully we will hear more about attacking signings as the weeks progress.
