Confirmed Transfer: Ivan Ramis Departs for Spain

This has kind of been in the pipeline for a while but it has just been confirmed that our Spanish defender has gone.

Ivan Ramis's Wigan Athletic career is a serious of what ifs. Just as the defender was getting use to life in the Premier League and at Wigan he tore his ACL against Fulham and was ruled out for 12 months. That sort of injury never leaves you and it has meant the defender has been in and out of the side ever since, it often leads to more injuries all over the body as imbalances begin to shine through.

Yet as one of the bigger earns we have been actively trying to get him of the wage bill for some time. Uwe Rosler was tasked with it last season, and it looked like Crystal Palace were willing to sign him till he failed a medical. That wasn't surprising.

He has been a true professional Ivan and has just got on with his job. A player oozing with class he will be sorely missed in our defence, yet with the chance to remove him from the wage bill and for him to go back home I do think this was an opportunity to good to miss.

His contract then has been cancelled by mutual consent, means we don't have to pay any compensation, and Levante have taken the player on.

Thank You Ivan, hope you enjoy you return home to Spain.
