Paper Talk: Wigan Keen on Leeds Duo, Billy McKay on Radar

After another departure shall we talk about players possibly coming in?

Well the hope is now that maybe with some wage bill freed up and some money in the club we can start too bring in some players. Well the first move appears to be Jason Pearce from Leeds United. Their captain reportedly didn't train with the side today and Neil Redfern said that interest from Wigan has been noted by the club and a move may be possible. Sounds like a done deal to me.

Reports have early today been suggesting that Rodolph Austin may join Pearce in leaving Leeds for Wigan. Reports suggested that Leeds need to cut their wage bill and we had agreed a deal for the pair in the region of about £1.5 million. It would be a good signing if we got him.

The downside though is that Redfern also said in his press conference today that Austin was not for sale whatever the cost as he is an important part of their team. So much for that signing then.

There is another player though we are very much deep in talks with that and that is Inverness CT striker Billy McKay. The former Northampton player who has been Inverness's top goalscorer the past two seasons has been given permission to talk to us and those talks are beleived to be on going.

A fee in the region of £200,000 has been agreed between the two club and for a striker who has bagged 54 goals in 121 league appearances for the SPL side it isn't a bad deal. Question is though can we push it over the line?
