The solution to our attacking problems? According to Malky Mackay appear to be Danny Graham and Gary Macky-Steven. One player coming in on a reported loan move and the other on a permanent transfer, that is if we can agree a fee with the parent club.
First to the experienced Danny Graham. The striker, who defiantly deserves the title journeyman player, currently resides at Sunderland after a loan spell at Wolves recently. The player was linked with us before his move to Wolverhampton Wanderers and rumours of such a move have only gotten stronger. Graham is a man isolated out up at Teesside and maybe a permanent move could be in line for the striker on the right kind of fee and wage.
Graham does have an extremely good track record over the variety of clubs he has played for down the years. With over 350 appearances and 110 goals to his name, he is a player with vast amounts of experience and at only 29, arguably he still has couple of his better years ahead.
The other player we are in line up for signing is Dundee United's player Gary Macky-Steven. The 24 year old winger has become a mainstay in the Dundee United team since his emergence in 2011 after a move from Airdrie United. He has been a player linked with a move down South of the border for some years.
With Shaun Maloney all but out the door this month we are in need of topping up our Scottish contingent. Could that player be Macky-Steven? Currently we have had £150,000 turned down by Dundee United, you would expect us to go back in with a higher offer.
So what we all thought would be a very quiet transfer window could be a very busy one. By end of week I would expect two departures from the club and by the sounds of it three players to have come in to the side.
