Confirmed Transfer: Wigan Get the Dutch Love

It has been a busy couple of days for Wigan as the cub confirmed two incoming loan signings to bulk our numbers and hopefully push the team forward. As our performances begin to stutter.

In the words of Gary Caldwell we have lacked a genuine wide man this season, and that has to be true. At times when getting forward we have looked narrow and we haven’t had that player who can stretch the play and other teams. Well hopefully that problem has been addressed with the club signing 23 year old Dutch winger Yanic Wildschut from Middlesbrough FC for a three month loan period.

The winger was a product from the Ajax academy and went on to play for a number of clubs in Holland before making a move to Middlesbrough in 2014, since which he has only played 11 times. It will be an interesting signing a fairly unknown player who could bring another and different edge to the team.

The club continued its shopping spree with the two month loan signing of Scotland Youth international Donald Love from Manchester United. The right back comes into the club to fill a rather large gap in our team. With Kevin McNaughton out injured and Jonjoe Kenny having returned to parent club Everton FC, we have been short on the right hand side.

The 20 year old comes to the club after being watched by our scouting team to which Gary Caldwell classes the player as a strong and fast defender with bags of potential.

Two more signings, let hope they can make a big impression.
