Confirmed Transfer: Jerome Sinclair Signs For Latics

We have needed a striker for a while now. Leon Clarke has been in and out of the side with injury, Marc Antoine Fortune couldn't hit a barn door; whilst Billy Mckay and Martyn Waghorn seem to be constantly sat on the bench.

The rumblings from Friday onwards were that a new signing was being lined up. Once the Harry Maguire deal went through, the club signing him on loan till the end of the season, our concentration was turned to finishing signing a striker. There was no mentioned name, until late on Friday when the noise was that Jerome Sinclair from Liverpool would be making his way here.

Today the 18 year old striker has signed on loan till the end of the season. The question now has to be is it the right kind of signing?

With nine game left to go, I know that six point gap is looking like a mountain now, we need to bring in someone who can find the back of the net and find it regularly. Our main problem this season has been a lack of a striker; the hope now is that Sinclair can be the solution.

So what is the youngsters credentials. Well in a very talented Liverpool Under-21 squad, alongside Sheyi Ojo, the striker has bagged 22 goals this season. The reports that come out of melwood speak highly of a young striker with an eye for goal.

If that all matches up and he makes an impression here at Wigan; maybe he could be a player to help us beat the drop. Talking to the club official website the striker is excited to get stuck in and says he has joined a 'bouyant' dressing room.

Welcome to Wigan Sinclair, go out there and score some goals!
