So one defeat and one win this week, plenty of other news though surrounding the club at the moment; with rumours of a change of ownership the club in the pipeline.

Cardiff City Reaction

Malcky Mackay faced off against his former club. The team starting to take the impact of injury after injury more changes saw the team that took to the field look fairly decent. Come 90 minutes it would be a 1-0 with Wigan having had two goal disallowed.

Our manager happy with the team for the level of performance as he said they gave it a real go against a team who had set up to defend and make it difficult for us to score. In the end the it all comes down to those two 'offside goals'; and as the gaffer put it they both look on side.

Blackpool FC Reaction

A must win game and the team stuck together and went to Blackpool and got the three points. In a performance which you hope will be the turning point of our season, it was in Mackay's words an absolutely delightful performance.

The players who Mackay signed in January are now starting to make a difference has he highlighted after Saturday's win. With Kim Bo Kyung and Harry Maguire the teams two standout performances at the moment. Long may that continue.

Fresh Evidence In Mackay Enquiry

The news broke last night that the FA have extended the deadline for their case against our manager after they supposedly found new evidence. The news is being broke by the Daily Mail so how concrete the news is you will have to decide for yourself. But just as our team is starting to put things together on the pitch, we could be upset by more news off it.

Gary Caldwell Retires

It has been on the cards for a while, yet speaking to the Scotsman Gary Caldwell as announced his retirement from football. The defender who was signed under Roberto Martinez has been continually hampered by injuries since coming to the club with his hips being the problem. The defenders last game was in the Play-off semi final against QPR, when he managed to get himself sent off and give away a penalty, and that will be that.

The defender will remain at the club for the time being in his academy role. Malcky Mackay has said that if he can he will try and keep Gary at the club. For me that is a good move for a player who commands a large amount of respect from the dressing room.

Whelan Looking to Sell?

Rumours have been circulating recently that Dave Whelan could be looking to sell the club. Combine that with the stone wall of silence coming from a usually vocal chairman and you wonder if the rumours are true. Some people have hinted that it could be a Thailand based company interested in buying us, according to local sources that is wide of the mark.

There is no denial that our chairman is looking to sell. Watch this space.

Injury Update

This weekend saw the surprise return of Leon Clarke to the team after his injury against Charlton. The striker has overcome an injury to his scapula and is back in contention to play for the team. Leon Barnett and Chris McCann continue their recoveries to match fitness.

The only player who is out and closing in on a return is William Kvist. The midfielder should be close to returning to training at some point this week. The midfielder could be in line for a return when the team travels to play Rotherham in two weeks time.
