Gary Caldwell had five games to save our season, the pressure is off though we fan I think are believing again. It wasn't the perfect start against Fulham on Friday night, yet we still came away with a point and a performance which has lifted the spirits and the morale of everyone connected to the club. Maybe could pull off the impossible.
If we are going to do that we need to get winning games again, and the next two prove perfect opportunities to do that. Firstly tonight we face off against Millwall FC before a home tie against Brighton & Hove Albion. Six points from two games could see us smiling some more.
Team wise going into the game Wigan Athletic will be without two players. Both Grant Holt and Emyre Huws of course remained sidelined with Andrew Taylor and Don Cowie both returning to training in the past few days. Gary really has a full squad to play with now a case of just what he does with them? Will he stick or twist going into the game? My bet will be that he sticks with what he had from Fulham and we take it from there.
Millwall meanwhile are also in a similar situation to us that they could have everyone back fit and ready to go, only Carlos Edwards remains sidelined. Jos Hooiveld is the one doubt he missed the weekends game but should be back to face us.
Both teams are going to be raring to go and which way will the points fall? Well in the reverse fixture this season the points were shared between the two teams. That though I doubt will be happening in such a crunch tie with points a must for both teams.
All the talk from Caldwell has been about keeping the faith and believing in him and the team. It is something I am doing for the first time this season and lest hope they don't let us down!
