Match Preview: Wigan Athletic vs Derby County

Happy Easter Monday, and the Championship games fire up again. Three days after our defeat up in the North East we now go again against Derby who's chase to be at the top of the tree is starting to come to a halt.

There is unlikely to be any changes for Wigan Athletic. Although it would be nice if Martyn Waghorn would finally be given a chance playing up front. This is going to be a must win game for us, so throwing one of the strikers we have on who can possibly score goals is the best situation.

For Derby after a few weeks of struggles in their games, they could be about to start turning. Or at least that is what they hope, last time out they ended up with a 2-2 draw against Watford. Darren Bent getting a goal and for this game Chris Martin is set for a return and it could be against us.

So we could have two very hungry striker facing off against us this Monday.

A win is a must from the game. Although neither Rotherham United or Fulham won on Friday, however Millwall did. The London club have leap frogged back up over us after their 2-1 win against Charlton.

This is starting to get serious now if we are going to get out of this mess. Before start of weekend Millwall looked slightly out of it, now though they are only four points off safety. Luckily for us we face off against them in one week, that will be a big game.

Before then we have to go out and get a win today. Our home form has continued to be poor, last time out it was a 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers; can we improve over that? Our team performances and cohesion is starting to improve of late, it is getting those goals that has been and continues to be our problem.

Can we go and get a win against Derby? Hope so, we need to dint their promotion hopes and boost our survival chances.
