Ian Black
The Ranger midfielder was linked with us early on in Gary Caldwell's reign and the rumours continue to circle over is apparent arrival at the club. The midfielder is set to be free this summer and with a large amount of players set to leave he could be brought in to add some experience.
Scott McDonald
A former Celtic team mate of Gray Caldwell the Australian striker return up north this season playing for Motherwell as they struggled in the SPL with them now playing in the play-offs looking for survival. The striker though is to come available on a free this summer and reports suggest that Caldwell wants to bring in an experienced player who could slot into a team fighting in League One. Is arrival could be dependent on our two striker returning from loan.
Jay Emmanuel Thomas
The former Arsenal striker who was part of the Bristol City team that gained promotion this year has been allowed to leave the club. He hasn't been an integral part of Steve Cotterill's team this year and has decided to go elsewhere for first team football. There have been some strong links between us and the player. With Thomas only at the age of 25 he has his better years ahead of him and he has experience at League One level. Definitely the kind of player we are looking at brining in.
Andy Lonergan
The Bolton goalkeeper is another player who has been allowed to leave the club. Early reports suggested that we would be signing the goalkeeper on a free, with Ali Al Habsi leaving and it speculated that Scott Carson will be on his way this summer. Gary will look to bring in a keeper to feature along with youngster Lee Nicholls.
John McGinn
The Scottish youngster who has impressed massively for St Mirren this season is also out of contract this summer, with the club set to be short on midfielders Caldwell is on the hunt for more and McGinn ticks a lot of boxes. Reports suggest that both us and Celtic are interested in the player and that Wigan representatives are said to be in touch with the player regarding his future.
Max Power
Another youngster and another player who is likely to be available relatively cheaply. The winger has been under the spot light for some time and is a very sought after target. With Tranmere Rovers relegation to the Conference this season, the player is likely to come available and Wigan are looking to take advantage.
Rob Kiernan
One player who is being looked at by a lot of clubs. The defender impressed a lot of people with his performances for Birmingham City since his January loan and that has sparked interest from Brimingham, Cardiff City and and Reading FC. Suggestion is that he has a relegation clause in his contract and could be available to clubs. Hopefully Caldwell can convince the defender to stay as he will be an important figure in our team.
The Rest of our Loanes
Oriol Riera, Andy Delort and James Tavernier have all been away on loan and all have reported interest in them. The statement from David Sharpe is, if Gary wants them to stay then we don't have to sell. The chances are that our two striker signings from last season will be on their way this summer. Hopefully though Tavernier can be kept hold of and play a role in the team.
