The relationship between Wigan and Brentford was massively strained last season following our pursuit of Adam Forshaw. In the end we got our man then, however we apparently very much annoyed the then Brentford manager Mark Warburton.
So luckily with both Warbuton and our manager at the time Uwe Rosler now gone, things you would hope are better. Well we have now manged to sign our man.
Last week it became clear that the club intended to sign Will Grigg from Brentford, however we had an initial £700,000 offer rejected. Brentford though didn't walk away from the table and a deal has been thrashed out over the weekend as Wigan have got their man.
Grigg who played last season for MK Dons scoring a total of 20 goals in 44 appearances, joins the club on a three year having reportedly cost us £1 million. He has had a previous spell at Walsall where at the age of 17 he broke into the first team scoring 27 goals in 99 appearances.
The player who turned 24 two wees ago is also a full Northern Ireland international and from the looks of it has his future ahead of him. He defiantly ticks a lot of the boxes for the signings we are making this summer.
Welcome to Latics Grigg, lets hope you are the player we have been expecting. No pressure though!
