Gary Caldwell will only have one player not available from the midweek game against Millwall with Sam Morsy suspended for one game after picking up two yellow cards in the space of ten minutes. In the game. We could see the return Donervon Daniels this weekend which would probably see us return to a back three I would imagine.
Will be interesting to see who makes the cut up front. With the way Peterborough having being playing of late having a good start to the game could and will be vital and might see Yanic Wildschut played from the start alongside Ryan Colclough for pace and attacking intent up front alongside Will Grigg.
It is Peterborough’s form, or lack of it, that could be a bit of a hidden enemy though. Our players need to be up for it and ready to go out hot from the start. If they do so and can keep the Posh nervous that could win the battle of wills and swing the game in our favour.
If we give them too much time and space on the ball they have enough skill going forward to cause us problems. It was a close fought match the last time the two sides met and I for one expected Peterborough to be pushing up higher the table with us. Yet they haven’t been able to sort it out at the back.
So as much as they are scoring goals, they are also conceding a lot of them as well. That combination unfortunately doesn’t work well enough all the time.
Both teams will be out hunting the win and that will make for an interesting game, for the neutral fan. If we can get our noses in front early enough it may kill off Peterborough’s confidence and allow us to control the game and get the win. We have to show them the respect they deserve and get at them early and quickly straight from the off.
No one said this league would be easy and with 12 games to go everything is still to play for.
