When we signed Marc Albrighton on a month's loan the first thought that crossed my mind was great signing, but not a long enough deal. The player for me should have been tied down to the end of the season if possible as he really could have added something to our attacking line up.
It took some time for Marc to really hit is top for, but considering he hadn't really played in over a year that was to be expect, yet towards the end of his loan spell he looked sharp and very dangerous when getting forward. He added a real extra dynamic to the team in terms of ability on the ball going forward; something we miss with Shaun Maloney being out injured.
There was talk last week of Marc wanting to stay longer possibly even permanently with the club looking into it. Callum McManaman needs someone like Marc to push him for his place in the line-up. Any chances though of a permanent deal may now have gone with Paul Lambert wanting his man back.
Has the Scottish manager seen something in Marc following his loan spell? Could well be that the former England under-21 interntional could now be in the Villa managers plans.
Very good for Marc's future as the loan spell may have just re-started his Villa career.
