Club News: Uwe Rosler Given Permission to Talk to Wigan

Not one of the names immediately linked with the vacant job at Wigan. Yet Dave Whelan has obviously decided that he needs to put his money where his mouth is. Maybe Owen Coyle's damage done to the club has reignited come of Uncle Dave's hunger.

One of the managers that a lot of us would like to have seen join the club in the summer instead of Owen Coyle. Dave Whelan has finally decided that if Wigan are to have a good manager and the chance of us getting into the Premier League he needs to open his wallet and splash some cash.

Uwe Rosler is a German born manger/player. A career which spanned 477 games scoring 139 goals playing at clubs like Manchester City, FC Nunberg and Southampton. Before having to battle back from lung cancer in 2005 before starting his managerial career at Norwegian side Lillestorm.

Eventually in 2011 his journey made him arrive at Brentford. Since then he has changed the clubs playing style and playing staff to make them into one of League One's top teams and likely for promotion this season.

Now poised for talks, it is likely that he will head up to Wigan after the weekends fixtures. Personally I think that this will be a good appointment for the club.
