Europa League Group Stage Draw Results

New, 3 comments

Are you excited? No? Well you should be! The draw for the Europa League group stage was made just moments ago and Wigan took to the stage in a European competition for the first time.

Who said Wigan has no history? Well we are making our own history right now. Wigan were today drawn into the Europa League and were placed in Group D alongside; Rubin Kazan (Russian), NK Maribor (Slovenia), S.V. Zulte Waregem (Belgium).

It's a big thing for the team and the club this European lark. It is the realization of a dream that a little club from a town in Wigan can reach the dizzy heights of Europe and fight for honors on a continental level.

Now we know who we are facing it is a case of going out and beating them. Personally the draw is easier than it could have been, that was helped by being placed in pot two, while we managed to avoid any of the major teams from pot one.

Saying that anyway away trip on the continent will not be easy and could be serious test for Owen Coyle and his men.
