Club News: Juan Carlos Garcia Diagnosed with Leukaemia

The defender hasn't played much for the club, and following a return from a loan spell at Tenerife you wondered if he may break into the team. Sadly that doesn't look likely for the time being.

It was announced last week that Garcia was ill with an undiagnosed blood disorder. The wording of the sentence and a statement from the club was never going to be a good sign. It turns out to be the worst kind of news for the defender, with a diagnose of Leukaemia.

Malky Mackay has spoken on behalf of the club with them moving to give Garcia the best chance he can against the disease. The player has already commenced treatment at Manchester's Christie Hospital, with the club flying the player's family over to the UK from Honduras; with them being put up close to the hospital.

Mackay also went on to say how well the team Doctor, Dr Ansar Zaman, did to get Garcia on the right path. With the player said to be in good spirits and ready to fight against the cancer.

We here at Pie Eaters Footie want to wish Garcia and his family all the best, and a speedy recovery.
