Club News: Boardroom Changes in Wake of Dave Whelan Departure

In light of what is going on at the club with Dave Whelan stepping down, three members of the board have also tendered their departures today. The old guard is very much coming to the end.

Phillip Williams (vice-chairman), John Winstanley and Brian Ashcroft have been major parts of this club right back since the start of the Dave Whelan era as they helped the man shape and lead our club forward. Now the three of them are ready to step aside and allow new and fresh faces to take over.

They will remain as part of the board during this changing period till the end of the season and will work with David Sharpe and Jonathan Jackson as they begin to move the club forward.

Big changes continue higher up in the club then in the coming months, it will be interesting to see who replace three loyal servants of the club.

One thing is for sure, we have had success for the past 20 years and we are in a period of transition into what looks like a fancially self sufficient managed club with new young ideas coming through.

If only we could apply that logic on the pitch!

Thank you for your service gentleman you have been amazing servants over the past 20 years!
