Latics took the lead thanks a Grant Holt penalty early in the first half. But two goals either side of half time from Middlesbrough put them in the driving seat, regardless of Wigans fine attacking play. In the end a lovely freekick from Jordi Gomez helped to rescue a point and the Latics blushes as Owen Coyle over saw his second home game and his second 2-2 draw.

A better performance from the team will be needed next weekend against Nottingham Forest.
