The former Celtic defender has made the move down south on a free transfer after his contract ran out at Celtic. The Norwegian defender who impressed at the under-21 tournament this summer becomes Owen Coyle's third signing.

July just got started and Wigan are already reeling in the free transfers this summer. The club having to look to recruit a large number of players for the forth coming season, and Owen Coyle has been quick of the mark to sign up as many players.

Thomas Rogne comes to Wigan following a mixed spell across the Northern boarder with Celtic. The defender has played over 50 games for the Scottish Champions but with a mix of injuries and other players hitting top form the defender has had limited appearances.

That has meant we have managed to snap up a real bargain here, and given the chance he could go far for both Wigan and Norway.

Rogne has signed on a three year contract and add cover to the centre back and right back positions at the club.
